Tsleil-Waututh Economic Development Department

The Tsleil-Waututh Economic Development Department (TWN EcDev) is the business and economic development arm of the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation of North Vancouver, British Columbia.  The TWN EcDev teams includes five team members, including Leonard George, Director of TWN EcDev and former Chief of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.

The TWN EcDev was established in 2002, but was the child of Takaya Developments Ltd., established in 1994.  With the success of Takaya Developments and other Tsleil-Waututh Nation business units, The Nation recognized the need for a formal economic development department.  The TWN EcDev functions as a member of the Management Committee of the Tsleil-Waututh Nation, a body representative of the administrative units of the Nation, and reports directly to Chief and Council for the Tsleil-Waututh Nation.
